This year at the Cannes Film Festival, it seemed that red carpet fashion was all about fishtail tail dresses. There didn’t seem to be a star that glided out onto the carpet that was not wearing some form of this type of gown.
For instance we found Cheryl Cole stepping out onto the carpet wearing a design by Stephane Rolland Haute Couture that was white that seemed to be dipped in scarlet painted feathers that served as her long train that nearly blended in with the red carpet itself.

The gown was done in a mermaid style that hugged the waist and hips and flared from the knees down into the feathered train.
The red carpet fashion trend of fishtail dresses didn’t miss Eva Longoria as she glided out onto the walkway with a 50?s style look of a Hollywood pin up girl in her low cut white gown by Emilio
Pucci that was complete with a gracefully done white train. Naomi Watts was not to be outdone as she dazzled everyone with her nude colored Marchesa embroidered gown that had a train that ended in feather like flowers.
China was also represented through this new red carpet fashion as Chinese actress Fan Bingbing sported her heritage in a gown that was covered in Chinese designs by the designer Christopher Bu. Diane Kruger’s Giambattista Valli gown done in mint had a Grecian flair with its off the shoulder look and flowing gown that fit the red carpet with perfection.
Bianca Balti added her own flair to the red carpet dresses with a voluminous gown designed by Dolce & Gabbana that came with a square neckline and a form fitting body down to the knees where it then spread out into a train. The black dress was full of large floral patterns that seem to fit Balti’s style and personality.
Not to be forgotten in all of these red carpet dresses with flowing fishtail trains was Jane Fonda who came out wearing a dark red sequined gown that was dotted with Chopard jewels. The gown was a design created by Roberto Cavalli.
